Forage Homestead was established in 2021 by Jesse and Jessica Clark.
In 2020, both Jesse and Jessica (a.k.a known as "the Jess' ") found themselves unemployed due to the pandemic. After thoughtful contemplation, Jessica successfully transitioned into a new job within her career, while Jesse embarked on a different path. Driven by a lifelong fascination with insects and a deep-seated connection to nature, Jesse pursued beekeeping and land management.
After thorough research, the Jess' made the decision to relocate to Wisconsin in search of a piece of land where they could establish a homestead for Jesse's aspirations. Acquiring a few acres in Waterford, WI, they set up an apiary with 3 hives and planted the initial rows of lavender and a mix of over a hundred native shrubs and trees.
We proudly operate as a modest enterprise, continually evolving and gaining insights along the way. Each year serves as an experimental journey, helping us discern effective strategies. Our primary ethos involves harmonizing with the environment, fostering a sanctuary where pollinators and native plants can flourish.
As of 2025, our immediate objective centers on honey sales, while our roadmap encompasses a broader range of homestead-derived products in the years ahead.
